What are duplicate dentures?
Duplicate dentures are the result of copying the current structure of a denture and making another denture in the same structure of the original denture.

Are the teeth strong
The duplicate dentures teeth are strong as the dentures gums, (the pink area). That is the teeth are made out of the same material that the denture gums are made from, with the only difference is in the color of the area of the denture. Duplicate dentures like any other denture should not be used to eat ice, or hard candy. Dentures are not made to eat just anything, as is instructed by your dentist. Some dentures are still made with porcelain denture teeth where they may be able to handle the eating of hard candies or food. But even the porcelain denture teeth do have a limit on what they can handle as eating hard foods. One should always take extra precaution when attempting to eat hard foods with their dentures.

Some of the reasons include that there is no need for a dentist to take an impression of a person's mouth because the duplicate denture is a copy of an already fitting denture. Duplicate dentures also cost much less because the teeth are not added one-by-one, and there is no need for denture adjustments because it is a copy of another denture. There are also fewer materials used to make duplicate dentures as the teeth are made of the same material the gums are made from. Duplicate dentures are not made with separate denture teeth, but as a whole with the same material the pink area of the denture.

Many folks just do not have a comfortable spare ready to wear if should anything happen to their original denture. Dentures do break, and they can break anytime and anywhere. Many folks choose to get duplicate dentures made for the reason to have a spare denture on hand as a precaution if anything should happen to the original denture.
